With GTA 6's map slowly being pieced together from trailer analysis and leaks, we decided to do a comprehensive comparison between the new Leonida setting and the beloved 2002 Vice City.
Scale Comparison
Based on everything we know, GTA VI's map appears to be at least 3-4x larger than the original Vice City. The Leonida region includes Vice City proper, the Leonida Keys island chain, the Everglades-inspired Grassrivers area, and expansive rural/suburban regions.
Key Districts
Where the original had Ocean Beach, Vice Point, Little Havana, and Downtown β GTA VI appears to have equivalent districts plus entirely new ones like Ambrosia, Grassrivers, and multiple Keys islands.
What's Returning
Despite the scale increase, many iconic location types from the original should return: the beachfront, the downtown skyline, port areas, and the classic Vice City aesthetic. Just massively expanded.
We'll continue updating our location database as more information emerges.
